Product details
Polyamide is a high-performance engineering plastic known for excellent mechanical strength, wear resistance, and good chemical resistance to oils and fuels. PA6 and PA66 are the most common. Typical applications include automotive under-hood components (air intake manifolds, engine covers), gears, bearings, cable ties, and electrical connectors. Modification dramatically expands PA’s capabilities: glass fiber reinforcement (30-50%) increases stiffness and heat deflection temperature for structural parts. Impact-modified PA (toughened nylon) avoids brittle fracture for clip applications. Heat-stabilized grades resist long-term aging at 150-180°C for under-hood use. Flame-retardant V0 grades (often halogen-free) are used for electrical housings. Carbon-fiber reinforced PA provides high strength and light weight for racing and drone components. Hydrolysis-resistant PA grades (e.g., PA66/6T) survive hot water and coolant environments. Low-water-absorption PA grades improve dimensional stability for precision parts.
